Remembering Katrina

Flashback to September 2005: Hurricane Season. Along with homes and businesses, Hurricane Katrina’s devastating path destroyed something very close to our hearts--schools. Banding together, the school and office products industry answered a desperate call. With their help, and alongside the U.S. Secretary of Education’s office, KINF distributed more than $3 million of donated school supplies to kids and teachers in the Gulf region. The relief effort extended to surrounding areas, helping displaced children return to school armed with supplies in Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, and beyond. We pause to share special thanks to the following partners who helped make it all happen: AMPAD, Avery Dennison, BIC Consumer Products USA, Boise Paper, Dixon Ticonderoga Company, Esselte Corporation, Fiskars Brands Inc., MWV, OfficeMax, Inc., PVI Office Furniture, Staedtler, Inc., Zebra Pen Corporation, and transportation partner Zeon Chemicals L.P.
