How Our Project Will Help Children
Imagine a child preparing for a day of school not having the basic supplies needed for class. For nearly 1 in 3 children living in poverty in Alton, Illinois, this is too often the case. The Kids In Need Foundation, proposes Project Alton School Box. Your vote can provide 4,200 school boxes for all elementary and middle school students in Alton. The kits contain essentials like pens, pencils, rulers, notebook, glue, and crayons that last through the year. Studies show that putting such tools in the hands of students increases classroom attendance, grades, and behavior--not to mention the boost in children's confidence. Alton schools face high levels of poverty, with 60% or more students in the federal lunch program. Yet the community has shown "can do" spirit by winning Refresh projects. Let's honor that commitment with a project that invests in children's success in school...and beyond.
With your help, KINF will be able to provide free school supplies to 4,200 children. Please vote today!
